When is the 2026-27 fantasy hockey draft season?
NHL opening night is September 29, 2026, so most fantasy drafts run from roughly September 8 through 28. Rankings, tiers and sleepers on this page are updated daily through that window.
Can I get fantasy hockey rankings for my own league's scoring?
Yes. Link your Yahoo, ESPN or Fantrax league and the entire guide — tiers, values, sleepers and the round-by-round plan — re-scores for your league's exact categories and point values, not a generic default.
How are these projections built?
Four seasons of player rates, recency-weighted and regressed to a position baseline by sample size, age-adjusted, with goals blended toward expected goals. The method is backtested against held-out seasons.
What's the difference between a points league and a categories league here?
Points leagues rank by projected fantasy points using your scoring weights; categories leagues rank by your edge in each counted stat as summed z-scores. The guide switches between them, and a banger-league board looks very different from a points board.
