Kodo Pick 'Em Is Live: How to Play, and Four More Daily Games
The season starts tonight, and so does Kodo Pick 'Em. It takes about a minute a day: pick one forward and one defenceman you think will record a point, and bank points when they do.

1. Sign in. Anyone can look at the slate, but making a pick needs a free Kodo account, so your picks and your score follow you. 2. Open today's slate. There are two boxes, forwards and defence, each with a short list of players playing tonight. Every player shows his chance of recording a point, his role and how he has been going. 3. Make one pick in each box. Change your mind as often as you like until that player's game starts. At puck drop his pick locks. 4. Check the results the next morning. Picks are graded from the box score. A correct pick scores its worth; a wrong one scores zero.
How the scoring works
A correct pick is worth 100 minus the player's chance of a point. A 70% favourite pays 30. A 25% long shot pays 75. If your player gets two or more points, the pick is doubled. Try it:
A 55% favourite pays 45. The middle ground. A wrong pick scores 0.
So the game is a trade between safe picks that pay a little and long shots that pay a lot. The best players on the board mix both.
Practice month, then the contest
October is a practice month. Every pick counts on the leaderboard, and the board resets on November 1, when the contest goes live with prizes. Use October to find your style without anything riding on it.
The leaderboard
The leaderboard has three views: the season total, any single month, and the last 7 days, which always covers the last seven days so a hot week shows up on its own. Ties go to more correct picks, then the longer streak, then whoever joined first.
You are listed as an anonymous player number unless you choose a name. To show up by name, save one at the bottom of the leaderboard (3 to 20 characters) and tick "show me by name".
