Penguins power-play units Friday: PP1: Karlsson, Crosby, Rakell, Kindel, Novak PP2: Letang, Malkin, Chinakhov, Kuzmenko, Koivunen/Lapierre

NEW@PensInsideScoop · 10/2

PP1) Karlsson, Novak, Rakell, Crosby, Kindel PP2) Letang, Chinakhov, Kuzmenko, Lapierre, Malkin (Kuzmenko just had an unreal setup to Malkin for a goal).

@SethRorabaugh · 10/1

Rutger McGroarty heads to WIlkes-Barre/Scranton. He was a healthy scratch last night and has been skating as a defenseman in practice (along with another forward, David Gustafsson) and defenseman Ilya Solovyov.

@PensInsideScoop · 10/1

The line of Hallander, Lapierre and Koivunen is absolutely buzzing. All three members of the trio have found the back of the net and are just making things happen in the offensive zone.

@NHLPR · 9/30

The @penguins open their season tonight on @NHL_On_TNT and Evgeni Malkin is excited he gets to do it for a 21st time alongside longtime teammates and friends Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang. #NHLFaceOff Read more from the trio: https://t.co/GwXeOoDsON https://t.co/G6t5U6vY9f

“A lot of people would like to have that shot. If he gets some space there, I think he’ll have four guys telling him to shoot it." On Egor Chinakhov getting a ... ahem ... shot ... with the Penguins' top power-play unit: https://t.co/htQHvn57sy

Had a chat with Ben Kindel today. Said he was highly aggravated that he had to miss any time because of injury but that coaches and medical staff reminded him that there are 84 of these things and it’s not the end of the world to miss one. He’s a gamer.

NEW@penguins · 10/2

Forwards Tristan Broz and Oliver Okuliar are no longer designated as Injured Non-Roster and have been assigned to @WBSPenguins (AHL). https://t.co/ycP5NhT070

NEW@PensInsideScoop · 10/2

Bryan Rust (upper body) is not on the ice for practice. He skated on his own before. Blake Lizotte (lower body) is also absent. Ben Kindel (lower body) is taking part.

@PensInsideScoop · 10/1

Ben Kindel, who has been out week to week with a lower-body injury, is on the ice for Penguins practice wearing a regular yellow jersey. No Bryan Rust or Justin Brazeau. And as per Penguins PR, Blake Lizotte is being evaluated for a lower-body injury and isn't practicing today.

@SethRorabaugh · 10/1

Ben Kindel is practicing today. He is wearing a yellow jersey, suggesting he is cleared for contact. Either that or he just likes Big Bird. Per the team, Blake Lizotte will not practice today due to an undisclosed injury. https://t.co/l9JrRlIJ52

@penguins · 9/30

Forward Blake Lizotte has been activated from Injured Reserve. https://t.co/5FpuxVJ0IU

@PensInsideScoop · 9/30

Bryan Rust (upper body) and Ben Kindel (lower body) are on the ice for Penguins morning skate in Philadelphia wearing what appears to be white no-contact jerseys.

Good to see Andrei Kuzmenko on the ice today. Impossible to fathom what he’s been through. Appears in good spirits. Has been a hit with his new teammates since Day 1.

Hallander with some great work in front of the net and it's 5-0. Boy is Girard good tonight. One of the best players on the ice.
