Manson with a point shot that deflects in. off Berggren, and it's 3-0. The Blues, who are being outshot 17-6, can't get it going. They need some jump from the top line, which is getting a lot of ice time. #stlblues

@evanrawal · 10/1

PP2 has three goals tonight. Lehkonen again. 8-4.

@evanrawal · 10/1

But PP2 comes to the rescue with their second power play goal of the evening, which is more than they scored all last year. 6-3. Lehkonen.

@evanrawal · 10/1

Power play goal by....PP2. Kadri down low to Schwartz who tried to hit Lehkonen in front. Instead, it goes across to Brock Nelson and it's 1-0.

@runwriteAarif · 10/1

Brock Nelson. PP2 gets the goal 1-0 Avs

@OHaraSports · 10/1

T.J. Hughes one-times a shot, but it's blocked by Cody Ceci and that's all she wrote for PP1 Still 20 seconds left on the man advantage

@DFOFantasy · 9/28

With O'Connor and L'Heureux banged up, the Avalanche may have to open the season with 11F/7D. T.J. Hughes, who was tied for 2nd in the NHL in points (5) and goals (3) in the preseason, made the team and will open the season in the bumper on PP1. https://t.co/3ww47w9XNy

@evanrawal · 9/27

TJ Hughes will not only start the season on the Avalanche, but he’ll start the season on PP1. Avalanche have backup plans but will start the season with MacKinnon on the right wall, Bednar says.

Obvious why Jim Montgomery wanted to have Broberg and Parayko on the ice together tonight: to be in MacKinnon's line's pants all night, and Makar pairing. Second of back-to-back. Going to be a challenge. #stlblues

NEW@OHaraSports · 10/3

Scott Wedgewood is the first goaltender on the ice but he’s not taking the starter’s crease, which suggests Mackenzie Blackwood will get the nod again for the second straight game. Blackwood has yet to get on the ice. The EBUG is here, though.

NEW@OHaraSports · 10/3

Brent Burns is on the ice and Logan O’Connor, it appears will stick with the main group at least to start.

@OHaraSports · 10/1

Here it is folks. I hope you enjoy it. Nathan MacKinnon made Opening Night memorable for many reasons. #goavsgo https://t.co/27yD4sJiKX

@evanrawal · 10/1

Nathan MacKinnon set the tone in more ways than one on Wednesday night. https://t.co/cFdcJXvcGj

@evanrawal · 10/1

The Avalanche and Nathan MacKinnon have had enough of Brandt Clarke going back to opening night last season. MacKinnon drops the gloves and lays a beat down on Clarke and Avs fans are fired up right now.

@DooleyLAK · 10/1

Nathan MacKinnon and Brandt Clarke drop the gloves on opening night! Can't say it hasn't been entertaining.

@OHaraSports · 10/1

Josh Manson turned over the puck and it went right to newly-signed Kings forward Mats Zuccarello, who was offside.
