My thoughts on the 23 players who made the #NYR roster can be found using the link below, but here are a few extra nuggets on the guys who missed the cut and variables in play: ▪️ I've heard varying opinions on whether Garand will get claimed. It's not a foregone conclusion, but there's certainly a chance. Ideally the Rangers keep both Garand and Korpisalo in the organization to provide coverage in the event of injury, but now they're at the mercy of waivers. Matt Rempe is set to play in his third preseason game in five days tonight. Signs are pointing to him, not only making the #NYR roster, but possibly playing on opening night. And it's hard to simulate game scenarios.

Caught up with Matt Rempe after the scrimmage, who was limited to 26 games last season due to a thumb injury that required multiple surgeries. He said he was able to go through his normal offseason training, just had to tack on extra rehab work for the thumb each day. How does it feel now? "No issues. Don’t feel it. I don’t notice it. No pain or anything. When I’m being real physical, it doesn’t hurt at all. Stick-handling, I’m not losing the puck or anything. I feel really good." #NYR
